The popular Escape from Tarkov streamer claims he first heard about the project back in 2017-2018, when it was being developed by a tiny team of just four people. During this time, he participated in multiple testing sessions, including a recent pre-alpha version which he described as "truly promising".
Notably, two years ago, EFT and Destiny 2 streamers had the opportunity to try Marathon, but at that time their impressions were rather negative. Bungie explained that the project was in its "early development stages", and the testing was conducted to gauge whether the concept would interest players in its current state.
Earlier reports also indicated that full-scale development of Marathon only began in 2019.
Meanwhile, Tom Henderson continues to hype up the audience, insisting that the game's full release will occur as early as 2025.
