Arrowhead's CEO, Johan Pilestedt, is in talks with partners from Valve and PlayStation to resume sales of Helldivers 2 in countries where registering a PSN account is not possible. This was announced by the manager and creative director in the shooter's Discord channel. Why sales of Helldivers 2 in regions without the ability to register PSN accounts have not yet resumed remains unknown.
Pilestedt assured that he is insisting on the return of Helldivers 2 to sales in 177 countries where the game was previously discontinued. According to the director, he is not going to forget about this issue. He also noted that it took considerable effort to remove the requirement for Helldivers 2 to be linked to PSN.
Helldivers 2 was removed from sale on Steam in over 170 countries on May 5, 2024. This was done against the backdrop of a scandal related to Sony's request for mandatory linking to a PSN account to play Helldivers 2 on PC. Afterward, the company withdrew this requirement due to widespread criticism from players.
