Arrowhead Studios is developing the concept for the upcoming game following the success of Helldivers 2, which was released a year ago to overwhelmingly positive reviews. On social media, creative director Johan Pilestedt announced that he was working on a "high concept" for the upcoming project and asked fans to weigh in.

Players suggested a variety of ideas, including a remake of the retro shooter Smash TV or Star Fox-inspired projects. Pilestedt revealed that the concept of a Smash TV remake has been considered by the studio before, and also mentioned a Star Fox-inspired project in the “rail game” genre.

While Arrowhead is keeping the details of the new project under wraps for now, it's clear that the studio is actively engaging with the community by listening to ideas. The success of Helldivers 2, which was one of the brightest games of 2024, sets the bar high for the studio's next game.

A recent update has significantly increased the number of players in the PS5 cooperative shooter. Omens of Tyranny was shadow-dropped for Helldivers 2 at the 2024 Game Awards, and PS5 users seem to be enjoying the update so far.

The new update has surely made players of Helldivers 2 very happy. The Illuminate enemy faction was long overdue in the game, and the 4x4 Fast Recon Vehicle and urban warfare maps are also great extras for players. Additionally, considering the rumored Killzone crossover for Helldivers 2, the cooperative shooter may be well-positioned for success in 2025.
