Bella Ramsey Deletes Her Social Media After Receiving Hate Over The Last of Us

Bella Ramsey, best known for playing Ellie in The Last of Us series, has chosen to remove herself from social media following repeated harassment from critics unhappy with her casting compared to the game’s original depiction.

Image: x.comOver time, spaces such as Reddit, X (previously Twitter), and Instagram became saturated with negative remarks about the 21-year-old actress’s looks and her abilities. Instead of enduring these attacks, Bella stepped away, explaining to The Hollywood Reporter:

“I always knew I would get off social media at some point. I never really wanted to be on it in the first place. If I just avoid Twitter and Reddit, which is what I'm doing now, everything will be fine.”

She admitted she was aware from the beginning that her appearance was different from the "computer game" version of Ellie:

“If I just don't go on Twitter and Reddit, like I'm doing now, everything will be fine. I used to really worry that I didn't look like the Ellie in the game, that my body shape was different.”

The show's second season debuted on April 13, 2025, and chronicles events occurring five years after the original storyline, following The Last of Us Part II.
