Naughty Dog has confirmed that The Last of Us Part II Remastered has earned Steam Deck Verified status, ensuring seamless gameplay on Valve’s portable console. With its launch slated for April 3, players can expect a well-optimized experience right from the start.
Although detailed performance metrics for Steam Deck are yet to be shared, early verification hints at a solid level of optimization and scalability.
Sony has delegated the PC version’s development to Nixxes and Iron Galaxy Studios, the latter of which previously handled the poorly received port of The Last of Us Part I. Fans remain cautiously optimistic about the improvements this time around.
The remaster features upgraded visuals, advanced upscaling support, the reworked "No Return" survival mode, and additional enhancements. On PC, the game will demand 150 GB of storage and a GTX 1650 for minimum requirements.
Meanwhile, fans of the HBO adaptation should mark their calendars for April 13, when The Last of Us Season 2 premieres. The new season promises a grittier and more emotionally charged narrative, with each episode delivering a blend of intense action and deep storytelling.
