Bungie has officially lifted the NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) for Marathon’s closed alpha test, allowing players to share their gameplay experiences. This decision was shared by the studio on Reddit, where they acknowledged the importance of community feedback in the game’s development. Starting April 23, all interested players will have the opportunity to not only test the alpha but also record and stream their gameplay, as well as discuss their thoughts freely.
Bungie made it clear that players should not expect the final version of the game during this alpha test. The build is missing key characters, locations, and features like a complete user interface. The primary goal of the testing phase, according to the developers, is to “break the game” and evaluate the core gameplay mechanics.
“We, the developers, believe that feedback and dialogue with the community are crucial for creating the best version of Marathon. Until now, these comments have come from closed playtest sessions. We decided to lift the NDA from our closed alpha test. Starting April 23, everyone can share their thoughts, feedback, and videos, including streams.”
The alpha begins on April 23, but initially, it will be limited to players in the U.S. and Canada. The full launch of Marathon is set for September 23.
