The first phase of the playtest for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer started even slightly earlier than the announced time. The beta is now accessible to those who pre-ordered the game or are subscribed to Game Pass. However, various players have been reporting connection issues, and Treyarch is introducing new servers to accommodate everyone.
Activision conducted extensive preparation, releasing a large number of videos, including those focused on the multiplayer that is now available to players.
The main highlight is the Omnimovement system. Developers describe it as a new universal movement system, which comes with a separate tutorial.
The system appears interesting and intuitive, but how enjoyable it will be in multiplayer, with all the constant dashing, diving, and rolling, remains to be seen. In any case, movement in Black Ops 6 is becoming one of the most critical factors for success.
The first, closed phase of the beta will end on September 4. Action will unfold on six of the sixteen release maps.
The second phase will take place from September 4 to 9 and will be open to everyone. Call of Duty fans can expect an action-packed couple of weekends.
