At the opening ceremony of Gamescom 2024, the developers of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 unveiled a gameplay trailer focused on the shooter’s story campaign.

The trailer shows a group of operatives embarking on a mission to rescue Russell Adler, but the covert operation goes awry. Eventually, the heroes escape the location on motorcycles, fending off enemies as they ride.

The initial reaction to the mission has been quite positive, and the audience seems sufficiently hyped. It appears that the potential negative impact from the closure of the H2M mod may have been overstated. However, the true test will be the traditional multiplayer beta, because this is where players spend most of the time.

Black Ops 6 is set to release on October 25 for PC and all current consoles (except the Switch), with an open beta starting on September 6. Those who pre-order or have a Game Pass subscription will gain early access to the beta on August 30.
