Monetization and out-of-place cosmetic items remain one of the major issues in recent Call of Duty entries, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is no exception. With the launch of its first season, the game introduced new maps, modes, and cosmetic items, some of which have been met with significant backlash.

One controversial addition is the Dragon Knight operator. First, its aesthetic seems far removed from the Black Ops 6 theme — armor engulfed in green flames feels more like it belongs in a fantasy game. Additionally, the vivid green effects are seen as disruptive to the gameplay experience.

Players have reported that the flame effects on the Dragon Knight skin occasionally obscure the character's head, making it difficult to aim. Furthermore, the skin is said to cause frame rate drops, which is particularly noticeable on lower-end PCs.

The first season also introduced other criticized operators, such as Goliath. As a result, players have seriously suggested they would be willing to pay for a feature that disables other players' cosmetics. With such a feature, matches for those who purchased the option would only display standard character skins and weapon models.
