The recent major update for No Rest for the Wicked, named The Breach, was supposed to enhance the experience of the hardcore isometric RPG. However, it quickly turned into a disaster for many players, who reported severe technical and gameplay issues. In response, Moon Studios has already released a hotfix to address the most immediate problems.

Player reviews detail numerous complaints: serious performance drops, erased character progress, and unwelcome changes to the combat and leveling systems. Dodge mechanics stopped working properly, ranged combat became unreliable, and enemies seemingly had infinite ammunition. The grind became excessive and frustrating. These changes sparked a flood of negative reviews, and the game's recent Steam rating fell to "Mixed", now sitting at only 40%.

The quick-response hotfix improves several elements: it rebalances combat, increases XP from enemies and bosses, fixes the backstab indicator, and enhances overall performance. Players will also notice updated interface markers and improved loot drops, which should make progression feel fairer and more rewarding.

Creative director Thomas Mahler addressed the situation publicly, promising better preparation going forward:

“I wanted to apologize to everyone — we’ve clearly learned our lesson and will never again push major changes without proper testing"

No Rest for the Wicked remains in early access on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
