Bloober Team, known for its work on psychological horror games, has unveiled the debut gameplay trailer for Cronos: The New Dawn, a new sci-fi horror experience. Shared exclusively via IGN, the video presents a disturbing glimpse into a fractured world split between timelines, hinting at themes of time travel and reality distortion.

Players will step into the role of a Wanderer, an operative of a mysterious entity known as the Union. His mission? To travel from a post-apocalyptic future back to the 1980s and prevent the deaths of key individuals who hold the fate of the world in their hands.

The two-minute trailer showcases eerie environments ravaged by an event known only as the Change. From crumbling industrial ruins to dimly lit streets overrun by monstrous anomalies, the protagonist must survive by any means — including firearms like pistols, rifles, and shotguns. Several enemy types are shown, each appearing more nightmarish than the last.

Bloober Team cited Dead Space and the German series Dark as key inspirations for the game. These influences are evident in the moody, dread-filled ambiance and the narrative’s interplay between eras.

Cronos: The New Dawn is scheduled to release in 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
