In anticipation of the upcoming release of the new Assassin's Creed installment, Ubisoft published an extensive article detailing the evolution of stealth gameplay in the series. However, the article is notable not only for its historical insights but also for some details about the new game.

In Assassin's Creed Shadows, players will be able to perform double assassinations while playing as the shinobi-assassin Naoe. The heroine will execute these using her hidden blade and a tanto — a samurai dagger resembling a small katana.

The last time the double kill option was available was in Assassin's Creed Syndicate, released in 2015. After that, players could only kill one enemy at a time.

Ubisoft has promised that Assassin's Creed Shadows will take stealth mechanics to the next level. Naoe will be able to hide underwater while breathing through a bamboo shoot, remain unnoticed in thick fog or behind a curtain of rain, and conceal herself in natural shadows cast by objects. Additionally, the heroine will have the ability to squeeze through cracks and openings to evade enemies.

The newest Game in arguably the biggest Ubisoft franchise is set for November 15, 2024, on PC, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5. Owners of the extended editions will be able to start playing three days earlier.
