The sequel is a survival horror game and will serve as a direct continuation of the original. The story unfolds in the city of Arkham, which has fallen under the influence of a supernatural flood, leading to its decline and transforming it into a haven for various monsters.

To expand development capabilities and support the project, Frogwares has launched a Kickstarter campaign with a goal of raising €100,000 (approximately $105,000). The funds will also be used to reward dedicated fans and attract players for playtesting to refine the game to perfection before release. The project is being developed on Unreal Engine 5.

The Sinking City 2 is set to release in 2025 on current-gen consoles (Xbox Series, PS5) and PC (Steam, EGS, and GoG).
