The gaming division of Microsoft keeps being very active this year. Another big news is that Xbox officially announced Gears of War: Reloaded — a full remaster of the original cult shooter. We won't have to wait soon, as the drop is planned on August 26, 2025.. It’ll also be a part of Game Pass, so the subscription keeps gaining big value. Interestingly, it will be the first time a game from the series is officially coming to PlayStation, making it a big step for the franchise.

For those who don't like Game Pass, the remaster is priced at $40. However, even in this case there’s good news for longtime fans: if you already own Gears of War: Ultimate Edition on Xbox, you’ll get Reloaded as a free upgrade. That’s a solid win for early supporters of the series.

This upgraded version is bringing the OG game into the modern era, with support for 4K resolution, up to 120 frames per second, and improved performance. Crossplay and cross-progression are also a thing, meaning you can play and carry your progress between all platforms.
