Alkimia Interactive has released a revised version of the Gothic 1 Remake demo, incorporating a number of player-suggested changes. One of the most significant adjustments is the increase in character movement speed and acceleration of animations—two areas that drew the most criticism from fans of the original.

Since the initial demo release titled “Nyras” in February, the developers have actively gathered community feedback via social media, Steam forums, Discord, and an official survey. Over 15,000 players took part in that poll, helping Alkimia shape a more responsive and immersive experience while preserving the unique atmosphere of the Gothic universe.

The enhanced demo is already available to play and features a more fluid interaction system. Thanks to faster animations and more reactive controls, the gameplay now feels more dynamic. Episode 3 of the Making Of video series dives into these changes and offers insights into the project’s direction and behind-the-scenes development stories.

Future plans for the remake include weather refinements (to make the current sunny conditions more believable), improved hitboxes, and assigning new daily tasks to NPCs. All of these updates are scheduled to be included in the full game, which is set to launch by the end of the year.
