Alkimia Interactive and THQ Nordic have released the trailer for the second episode of the Making of Gothic documentary series, offering a deeper dive into the development of the highly anticipated Gothic Remake. The video showcases plenty of new in-game footage, giving fans a first look at what’s coming in the updated version of the classic RPG.

In the trailer, the developers revealed that they are working to restore cut content from the original game, addressing narrative gaps and logical inconsistencies that plagued the first Gothic. One of the most exciting additions is a new lockpicking system, which is set to offer a more challenging mechanic than the original, where players had to memorize lock sequences.

Fans will also get a glimpse into the world of the orcs, including their rituals, shamans, and sacred dances. Not to mention, the trailer showcases familiar locations like the Swamp Camp and hints at underground mysteries near the Sleeping One’s crypt, setting the stage for even more adventures.

The documentary’s second episode will offer further insights into these exciting new mechanics and story elements, with more details on the development process. The release date for this episode is yet to be announced but is expected soon.

The Gothic Remake itself is slated for release by the end of 2025, so fans will have plenty of time to anticipate the return of this beloved RPG with updated visuals and gameplay.
