Gun Interactive has officially announced it will no longer actively support the multiplayer horror title The Texas Chain Saw Massacre. Based on the cult horror franchise, the game will not receive further DLCs or balance patches beyond May. According to the publisher, the development team has fulfilled its creative vision and considers the project complete in terms of design and gameplay.

Despite the end of active development, the game will remain on sale, and its servers will not be shut down. Players will continue to receive technical assistance through customer support. The upcoming May update will be the last major content patch, marking the conclusion of new additions or gameplay tweaks. After that, the only changes planned involve technical adjustments to enable a shift to a peer-to-peer connection system.
The announcement triggered a wave of negative reviews on Steam, where some users accused the developers of abandoning the game prematurely. Although it launched in August 2023 with over one million players on its first day, the game’s popularity has waned, with daily player numbers in Steam often dropping below 1,000.
