The head of FromSoftware, Hidetaka Miyazaki, aims to make the studio's next game even better by leveraging feedback from Elden Ring and the experience gained during its development.
Miyazaki mentioned in the interview that his team faced many challenges while developing the Elden Ring. After the game's release, FromSoftware received a lot of constructive feedback from players. This feedback will help the developers in creating the next game, in which Miyazaki hopes to improve the elements that didn't perform as well in Elden Ring.
In an interview, Miyazaki also stated that Shadow of the Erdtree is a massive expansion, but it couldn't be any other way. According to him, the DLC world had to be large; otherwise, players wouldn't experience the feelings of exploration, wonder, and discovering the unknown. Previously, Miyazaki mentioned locations in Shadow of the Erdtree are comparable in size to Limgrave.
FromSoftware has not yet announced their next game, so it is unclear what the studio is currently working on. Miyazaki had previously stated that Shadow of the Erdtree would be the first and only expansion for Elden Ring. Online speculations suggest the announcement of FromSoftware's next title might occur in December at The Game Awards 2024.
