Reliable dataminer X0X_Leaks found in the files of Marvel Rivals after the next update hints of PvE-mode, where players will have to fight with the boss kraken. The monster model already has some animations, but no high-resolution textures.
Dataminer added the kraken to the match using its size parameters in the game files so players have an idea of what it might look like:
Marvel Rivals revealed the details of its major Spring Festival event. Starting this Thursday, it will provide a unique game mode and a complimentary Star-Lord costume. Teams of three players will attempt to score a ball into the opponent's goal in Clash of Dancing Lions.
This mode is more similar to Lucioball, the first special game mode in Overwatch, which is also based on Rocket League, even though many people will instantly associate it with Rocket League (and it's easy to see why).
This comparison is intriguing because Marvel Rivals appears to have overtaken Overwatch at this point and needs to produce as much original content as possible in order to differentiate itself from the Blizzard game. Its first major event, though, arguably has the same mode as the original Overwatch event. The sole distinction is that Marvel Rivals has a strong Chinese influence, while Overwatch focused on the Olympic Games aesthetic.
