Two months ago, Blizzard announced a wealth of new content for Overwatch 2: a talent system, the return of loot boxes, 6v6 format, as well as a special mode - Stadium. And now the development team has released a full-fledged gameplay trailer for the upcoming mode.

The core concept of this format is the ability to earn currency, which is then spent on acquiring various new mechanics for characters. There are quite a few abilities, and unlike the already released talent system, they significantly alter the heroes' gameplay.

However, some abilities have been seen by players before in one way or another: some were carried over from the first game (Orisa's pull), some clearly remained from scrapped old mechanics (the PvE mode or even the original Titan game), while others were borrowed from other studios (Mei's snowball from Heroes of the Storm).

The second major feature is the ability to switch to a third-person view, something players have been requesting for a very long time (and which was possibly implemented under the influence of Marvel Rivals' success).

The new mode will be added to the game on April 22, 2025.
