At the State of Play presentation, Sony announced the Silent Hill 2 remake release date — it will be launched on October 8. The game will be available on PS5 and PC.

Following the announcement, pre-orders were opened on the PS Store. The standard edition is priced at $70, while the Deluxe Edition, priced at $80, will grant users 48 hours of early access to the horror game and a digital artbook with the soundtrack.

At the Konami presentation, 13 minutes of gameplay footage was also shown. The developers showcased James Sunderland exploring the streets of the town during both day and night, as well as the "Brookhaven" hospital. Throughout the video, the protagonist frequently encounters various monsters, fighting them with both melee and firearms.

The creators of the horror game also revealed modernized looks for Laura and Maria—key characters in the horror game.

The Japanese publisher stated that composer Akira Yamaoka recorded new tracks for the Silent Hill 2 remake that were not in the original, as well as updated versions of the old compositions.
