LEGO CEO Niels Christiansen has outlined the company’s future plans, revealing that the iconic toy manufacturer is set to expand its presence in the digital space by developing video games. This includes creating titles both independently and through partnerships.

“We are confident that, as long as we operate under the LEGO brand, we aim to create experiences for children of all ages across both digital and physical platforms. Developing games internally is something we are actively pursuing.”

This move does not necessarily mean LEGO will stop licensing its brand to third-party developers. For instance, last month, journalist Jason Schreier reported that TT Games, a studio known for its LEGO-themed titles, is working on a new LEGO game. It’s likely tied to one of Warner Bros.’ franchises.

Additionally, LEGO has been synonymous with the adventure game series developed by TT Games over the past two decades. While new projects from the studio have been quiet lately, rumors suggest a LEGO Harry Potter game is in the works, inspired by the success of LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga which was a commercial hit.

Moreover, LEGO partnered with 2K Games to release LEGO 2K Drive a racing game launched last year, further showcasing the brand’s versatility in the gaming industry.
