During the FGSS showcase, the developers of Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord revealed War Sails a new expansion that introduces naval warfare and Viking-inspired factions to the series for the first time.

The trailer offered a glimpse of Vikings aboard ships, transitioning into fierce coastal battles as warriors charged ashore. Later, the camera panned out to display an updated world map, showcasing civilizations linked by waterways where massive naval battles will soon unfold.

War Sails is a single-player expansion that lets players command fleets, participate in thrilling ship battles, and embrace the challenges of naval conquest. Players must learn to navigate ship combat, execute boarding maneuvers, and manage fleets effectively. In addition to combat, the expansion emphasizes logistics, including ship upgrades, trade route management, repairs, and capturing vital maritime hubs to assert control over the seas.

A new Viking-inspired faction joins the fray, bringing unique companions with seafaring expertise. Players will also enjoy expanded character customization, new skills, and perks designed to enhance the naval experience.

The expansion expands the game’s world map with new islands, broader rivers, and expansive open waters, offering more opportunities for exploration and conflict.

Although the release date for War Sails has not been announced, it is already available for wishlist on Steam, signaling its upcoming launch.
