While DOOM: The Dark Ages was arguably the main eye candy of Developer_Direct for the gamers, it was not the only big topic. During the broadcast, Ninja Gaiden 4, the sequel to Koei Tecmo's popular series, was announced. It is set to release in fall 2025.

According to the debut trailer, it will be an action-packed slasher featuring ninja Ryu Hayabusa as the protagonist. Ninja Gaiden 4 will introduce several new mechanics not seen in the series before, such as the ability to quickly traverse using wires and rails, as shown in the gameplay trailer.

The team emphasized the design of the cyberpunk city, where a toxic rain continuously falls. Players will face hordes of modified soldiers and terrifying otherworldly creatures as they work to lift an ancient curse from the megacity.

The presentation also featured a massive remaster of Ninja Gaiden 2, which has already been released on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S and is available in the Game Pass catalog.

Team Ninja has ported it to UE5. The team completely reworked character models, visual effects, and landscapes, while also adding elements from newer entries in the series, including three additional playable characters.

Koei Tecmo did a big job, and they deserve all of the current attention of the community.
