Bethesda and id Software prepared a new demonstration of DOOM: The Dark Ages for the Xbox showcase and confirmed the insiders' reports that the new hellish shooter will launch on May 15.

The Dark Ages will move us to the Medieval times and, of course, different era should reflect in different gameplay. In this shooter, players will feel like a "killing machine" and a true tank. According to the developers, the gameplay dynamics differ significantly from DOOM: Eternal. Players won't need to constantly jump around or engage in extensive parkour. Instead, they'll spend more time on the ground, using a vast arsenal to crush demons.

Key tools for demon destruction will include a shield and a mace. For the first time, players will be able to use a giant mech to fight against slightly smaller demons. Additionally, players will have the chance to ride a dragon during the campaign.

The shooter will feature a flexible difficulty customization system. Players can adjust the level of challenge, how much damage enemies deal, and various other parameters.
