By now, we should be used to how GSC Game World supports S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl, but every time a massive changelog drops, it’s still surprising.

Update 1.3 introduces over 1,200 fixes and improvements across almost every aspect of the game: AI/A-Life, balance, story progression, performance, locations, sound, and more.

Notably, the developers have improved NPC reactions to footstep sounds, made monster movements in combat smoother, reduced random encounters, and enhanced protection against anomalies. The game now features a greater variety of death screens depending on the cause of death. Additionally, new music tracks and animations have been added—particularly for idle NPCs.

The game has been played by over six million players, though it’s important to consider that it’s available on Game Pass. Regardless, such large updates are definitely a welcome sight.
