Veterans from Microsoft, Epic Games, DICE, and other major studios have released a trailer for what they describe as the AAA metaverse game OPEN. The project will extend the universe of the book and movie Ready Player One. It is known that the developers plan to create a battle royale featuring locations, items, and characters from the franchise.

Readyverse Studios presented their project at the SXSW exhibition in Austin. The teaser, lasting less than a minute, offers little insight into the upcoming game, and the release date has not been announced. In one of their tweets, the developers hinted that their metaverse would include several popular IPs, such as Reebok, though it remains unclear how this will be implemented in the final product.

The studio also mentioned that the game would be based on Web3 technologies. Web3 gaming is a relatively new way of creating games that involves the use of blockchain technologies. Implementing such mechanics allows users to fully own in-game items, rare weapons, and legendary characters.
