The Painkiller reboot is officially on the way, and the new gameplay teaser shown at Galaxies 2025 is all about one thing: insane weapons.

The short trailer showed off a mix of returning and new tools of destruction. Old-school fans will be happy to see classics like the Stake Gun and the OG Painkiller weapon making a comeback. But there’s also a bunch of new stuff — like a rocket launcher and a crazy electric gun that fires shurikens. Every weapon has two fire modes, elemental effects, and special bonuses that can be combined with character abilities.

The game’s story throws players into Purgatory to battle Azazel’s demonic army. You can fight solo or in 3-player co-op, with four playable characters that each come with unique powers. There’s also gear upgrades and Tarot cards that boost your abilities mid-run.

The Painkiller reboot is set to launch in fall 2025 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. Get ready to slay demons in style.
