GSC Game World has spoken to the community about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl and shared some pretty cool plans. They promised that the game will receive updates all year long, so fans always know what’s coming. Every three months, there will be a sneak peek into the next quarter’s plans, and this time it’s all about Q2 2025—covering April, May, and June.

The developers have some big ideas. They’re starting with a closed test for brand-new modding tools that will later go into beta. You’ll be excited to hear that the game’s A-life system and AI are getting an upgrade too. Characters will use cover smarter, throw grenades in a more realistic way, and mutants might start reacting to danger by even eating corpses—yep, things in the Zone are getting wild. They’re also adding loot drops from dead mutants, and there will be two new types of weapons to help you fight them off.

On top of that, GSC Game World is working on making S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 more stable by fixing bugs and reducing those crazy “anomalies” everyone talks about. And here’s another twist: they’re planning a next-gen update for the original S.T.A.L.K.E.R. trilogy. This update will cover not just the console bundle S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Legends of the Zone but also the PC versions.

The plans sound awesome, but there’s a catch. The developers note that all of these updates might roll out after Q2 2025 because the Zone is “unstable.” So, while there’s a lot to look forward to, some delays might still be on the way.
