It's great when developers of competitive games regularly communicate with the community and share their plans. Tekken 8 is one such positive example. Today, the developers hosted a stream where they talked about the second season of the game.
The broadcast kicked off with a small gag: Katsuhiro Harada didn't appear in the studio right away, and instead, his "nerfed version" showed up. However, it didn’t take long before the mastermind behind the franchise returned, and the conversation became more substantial.

Here are the key points from the stream:
- Season 2 will begin on April 1, with Anna Williams being the first DLC character available in early access. Anna will have four different preset costumes, and if you don't like her new hairstyle, you can switch it back to the one from Tekken 7.
- The Tekken World Tour 2025 is officially confirmed. The first qualifier will be EVO Japan, and the tour will wrap up in November at Thaiger Uppercut, with the main tournament scheduled for early 2026.
- Anyone, regardless of nationality or place of residence, can participate in the tour, though restrictions may apply for the final tournament and cash prizes.
- The developers have also introduced new coaching rules. Last year, this was a hot topic, but now, by default, each player can receive coaching once per match immediately after losing a game. The coaching session is limited to one coach and one minute.
- Tekken will also have its own board game.
In Season 2, the developers will be improving the game balance for those who prefer a defensive playstyle. In Heat state, players will be able to regenerate up to 30% of the damage taken.
