The Tekken 8 community is in full meltdown mode after developers released the Season 2 patch. Fans were so upset that Steam reviews tanked to "Overwhelmingly Negative" almost overnight. The patch added big gameplay changes that didn't sit well with most players — and the backlash was deafening.

Bandai Namco already knew trouble was coming. Even before the patch dropped, they announced an emergency fix was in the works. That patch is set to arrive tomorrow, and it includes some major tweaks. Health bars across the roster are getting boosted, and some overpowered moves are getting nerfed. They’re also dialing back the Heat system  by nerfing overall damage, frame advantage, and chip damage.

The fighting game top-level scene didn’t hold back either. A legend of the game, Knee, called the update "selfish," and fans have been vocal across all platforms. But surprisingly, game director Katsuhiro Harada isn’t mad — in fact, he’s listening.

Harada admitted the backlash is fair and promised faster updates going forward. He said the devs are working "day and night" to get things right and bring the game back on track. So yeah, more patches are coming, and the team is fully focused on fixing Tekken 8.
