The developers have released update 2.00.02 for Tekken 8, aiming to address criticism regarding excessive aggression and unbalanced combos in the newly launched second season. The main changes affected character health and the Heat system - the core mechanic of the current fighting game version.

All fighters now have increased overall health, which should provide players with more tactical flexibility and reduce the dominance of overly aggressive playstyles. The behavior of Heat Dash has also been reworked, with reduced damage from Heat attacks, and the system itself has become less punishing regarding combo dominance. Additionally, the frame advantage of Heat Engager moves has been adjusted.

The matchmaking system has also been changed - it now considers not only your rank but also the strongest fighter in your opponent's profile. However, this adjustment may increase matchmaking wait times, which has already raised concerns in the community. Players previously complained about long queues and now fear the situation may worsen.

The patch wasn't without new technical issues: at launch, developers confirmed a bug where Eddy could appear in front of the opponent immediately after starting a match against Nina. The causes of this glitch are being investigated, and the studio promises to provide clarification soon.

Particular disappointment came from the lack of progress in combating cheaters. The patch introduced no new anti-cheat solutions, meaning automated blocks and move interruptions may still ruin the online experience.

Nevertheless, the studio assures this is just the first step in balancing adjustments for the second season. A more substantial update is expected in May, which should bring systemic improvements to all characters' gameplay and significantly revise their combat capabilities.
