The Sims 4 is set to introduce daily login rewards — and fans are not happy about it. Users believe the new system heralds the arrival of a battle pass-like feature. Developer Maxis has not officially announced the new function yet: mentions of the option were found by dataminers in the game's files after a major update was released.

On some forum, a user reported that they've been collecting daily login rewards for two days now, while the rest of the world is just discussing it. Another player chimed in, speculating that it might be related to Italy since they also got a popup about logging in.

To receive unique prizes, players simply need to log into the life simulation game a certain number of times over the course of several weeks. Fans will be rewarded with cosmetic items and decor. It's unclear if this will work with mods and custom content.

Reddit users have already discussed the new addition: many dislike it.

oh god please be fake..

Gamers view the new The Sims 4 feature as analogous to a battle pass. Not everyone is entirely against it, though — some like the idea. EA has not confirmed anything at the time of writing; the function may never appear, or it could just be someone's internet joke.
