In a surprise move, Frogwares has released The Sinking City Remastered, a major upgrade of its cult detective horror title from 2019. The announcement was accompanied by a detailed trailer comparing the new version with the original, showcasing the game’s significant visual overhaul.
The remaster transitions from Unreal Engine 4 to Unreal Engine 5, bringing a host of enhancements. These include improved lighting effects, 4K textures, richer environmental details, and a newly implemented photo mode. Players also benefit from support for modern technologies such as DLSS, FSR, TSR, and frame generation. Several gameplay elements have been refined, and new accessibility options have been introduced to improve the overall user experience.
The Sinking City Remastered is now available on PC (Steam and GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series platforms. Players who own the original game receive this remaster as a free upgrade, and the game allows switching between the old and new versions.
Frogwares also reiterated their long-term commitment to expanding the franchise. Their recent Kickstarter campaign for The Sinking City 2 concluded with great success, raising over €550,000 against an initial goal of €100,000.
