Ubisoft has revealed its detailed post-launch support plan for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, promising players a steady stream of new content, including free downloadable content (DLC), extensive game updates, and fresh features designed to deepen the gameplay experience.

Set to release in 2025, the major story expansion "Claws of Awaji" will introduce players to an entirely new island region filled with fresh challenges, unique gear, and a continuation of the game’s narrative that picks up after the epilogue of the main campaign. All players who preordered the game will receive this content at no extra cost, though an official release date has yet to be announced.

In addition to the large-scale expansion, Ubisoft plans to roll out several smaller narrative-driven DLCs throughout the year. The first of these, titled "The Works of Louis Frouas" , will add new missions, activities, and character abilities that further explore supporting characters within the game’s world.

A major gameplay update is scheduled to arrive as early as May , focusing on improvements to the parkour system. Players can expect new movement mechanics such as a backward vault, edge jump, and a completely reworked side traversal system. This update will also expand the game’s photo mode, giving players more creative tools for capturing in-game moments.

Looking ahead, Ubisoft also teased the introduction of increased difficulty levels for both combat and stealth systems, offering a greater challenge for seasoned players. A "New Game+" mode is also in development and expected to launch in June , allowing players to replay the game with retained progression and enhanced abilities. More specific dates for these features will be shared by the developers at a later time.
