Ubisoft stated in their 2024 fiscal year report that the production of Tom Clancy's The Division Heartland has been halted. This was done to reduce company costs in an effort to optimize internal processes and adapt to market trends.
Representatives of the publisher stated that they decided to stop the work in favor of their multiplayer blockbusters XDefiant and Rainbow Six. It must be noted that there was a noticeable progress in the creation of the Heartland, as several closed beta tests were conducted. It also received an age rating in Taiwan, indicating its readiness for release.
Over the past eighteen months, the company has laid off at least 1,700 employees. The layoffs were part of a cost-cutting program. Ubisoft's net revenue in the 2024 fiscal year increased by 27%, amounting to 2.3 billion euros. Operating profit reached 401 million euros.
Earlier, the publisher presented Assassin's Creed Shadows, which will be released on November 15.
