The developers of the action hit Sifu, Sloclap, have launched the beta for their upcoming arcade-style football game Rematch. From April 18 to 21, players on PC (via Steam), PS5, and Xbox Series X|S can test the game’s fast-paced, no-frills matches. In this take on the sport, you won’t find fouls, offsides, or timeouts the ball bounces off the walls and stays in play non-stop.

Rematch features 5v5 gameplay, with each participant controlling a single player. Since all characters have equal stats, the focus shifts toward teamwork and personal skills. The developers are pushing for a level playing field where raw talent and coordination matter most.

Steamdb statistics show that, as of now, 39,961 players are simultaneously active, with the 24-hour peak hitting 118,739. While these numbers are impressive, it’s worth noting the full version will be paid upon launch, which could affect future engagement.

The full release of Rematch is scheduled for June 19.
