The new team has been named Dark Outlaw Games. It is led by Jason Blundell, known as one of the key creators of the zombie mode in the Call of Duty series. In a recent interview, the developer noted that the team is working under strict confidentiality, and it is too early to share details about the project. However, he emphasized that the opportunity to create a new studio under Sony's publishing umbrella is a tremendous honor:
Sony doesn’t often launch new internal studios, and getting such an opportunity is truly exciting.
It is known that Dark Outlaw Games is actively hiring staff to work on its first project. Judging by recent job postings, the studio is developing a multiplayer game, though specific details remain shrouded in mystery.

For now, we can only speculate about what kind of project is being created within Dark Outlaw Games. However, there are several possible scenarios:
- Blundell has extensive experience in creating cooperative action games, so a project in the style of a shooter with PvE elements is likely.
- After the failure of Concord, it is unlikely that the studio will take on another live-service game. Most likely, it will be a major release with a focus on story and multiplayer modes.
- There is a chance that the studio could revive the Killzone series. The new team could breathe life into this forgotten shooter, although analysts consider this scenario highly unlikely.
Blundell left Treyarch back in 2020 and founded Deviation Games, which, however, shut down in 2024 without releasing a single project. The founder himself left the studio in 2022, moving to PlayStation.
