Back in June 2023, inXile entertainment unveiled their ambitious RPG Clockwork Revolution—a project inspired by the aesthetics and philosophy of the cult classic BioShock series, particularly Infinite. Despite the impressive announcement and initial excitement, details about the game have remained scarce. Nearly two years have passed since the reveal, yet fans still haven't received either a concrete release date or even rough timeframes.
However, the developers have finally broken their silence. In a new post on platform X, the studio revealed that a team of 110 specialists is working on the project. Leading the development are true legends of the genre: Brian Fargo (Wasteland), Chad Moore (Arcanum, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines), and Jason Anderson, one of the creators of the original Fallout games.
Given that Microsoft is preparing its traditional summer Xbox event, there's a high likelihood that a new trailer for Clockwork Revolution will be showcased there, featuring long-awaited details about gameplay and setting.
As for the release date, it's reasonable to assume the game could launch in the first half of 2026—exactly marking the three-year anniversary of its announcement, assuming the final development stage takes the standard 12-18 months. Notably, although the project is being developed under Xbox's wing, the company's current strategy is focused on multiplatform releases. Therefore, Clockwork Revolution will most likely debut not only on PC and Xbox Series but also on PS5.
