On November 16, 2004, Half-Life 2 was released, marking a milestone in the history of the gaming industry. It was clear that Valve wouldn’t overlook such a significant anniversary, but fans were unsure what exactly the legendary company had in store. Today, the answer was revealed on a dedicated page.

One of the highlights is a massive two-hour documentary about the making of the game, exploring the challenges and regrets faced by Gabe Newell and other Valve employees.

Valve has also done significant work polishing the game by fixing bugs and implementing one particularly major update: both expansions, Episode One and Episode Two, are now accessible directly from the main game client. Additionally, they’ve revamped multiplayer maps and introduced support for numerous modern features, including Steam Game Recording and enhanced compatibility with the Steam Deck.

Moreover, Valve is re-releasing the book Raising the Bar, now including content dedicated to the two episodes.

Finally, in case you didn't have the game on your Steam account, you can claim it for free in the next 48 hours. In short, Half-Life 2 fans have plenty to celebrate!
