The studio Pocketpair, that works on a hit game Palworld, recently received notification of a lawsuit from Nintendo. It comes both as surprising and unsurprising: Nintendo lawyers are well-known for their aggressive stance on defending the intellectual property. However, for quite some time there wasn't any beef with Palworld.

Pocketpair has announced the start of its own investigation as they don't know details regarding the alleged patent violations. Despite the new legal challenge, indie company plans to continue improving its game, though they are likely to have less resources now.

Nintendo is demanding a court injunction against unspecified violations and compensation for damages. The Pokemon Company has also joined the case. Both companies had previously stated they would take all necessary steps to protect their intellectual property, and the lawsuit appears to be a significant step in that direction.

Unfortunately, right now there are too few details available. We hope to see more news in the future.
