Bella Ramsey, the acclaimed actress known for her role as Ellie in HBO’s The Last of Us , recently opened up in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter about the challenges she faced while portraying the iconic character. Fans of the original game series have often drawn comparisons between her appearance and the CGI-rendered Ellie from the games, which initially caused her anxiety.

Ramsey admitted that she was overly focused on the differences between herself and the game version of Ellie, particularly when it came to physical appearance. “I was pretty fixated on how Ellie looks in the game and her muscle definition... I don’t have that body type,” she shared. “It was hard for me to stop thinking about the fact that I didn’t look like the computer-generated version.”

Despite these initial concerns, Ramsey has come to terms with her portrayal of Ellie, emphasizing the importance of bringing authenticity and emotional depth to the character rather than striving for a physical resemblance.

In addition to discussing her acting journey, Ramsey also spoke candidly about her relationship with social media. She revealed that she actively avoids platforms like Twitter and Reddit to protect her mental health. “I always knew that one day I would deactivate my accounts,” she said. “I didn’t even want to join social media in the first place.”

Ramsey explained that staying off these platforms has been beneficial for her overall well-being. “If I just avoid Twitter and Reddit, which I do now, then everything stays perfectly fine,” she added. Looking ahead, she plans to delete her social media profiles entirely, signaling her commitment to stepping away from the online noise.
