Out of nowhere, a chaotic 10-minute preview of the long-delayed action-comedy Kung Fury 2 appeared on YouTube, taking fans by surprise. The footage features a bizarre mix of action, comedy, and outrageous plot twists, with appearances from Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Fassbender, and David Hasselhoff. All three actors were previously announced as part of the cast, but this is the first time fans have seen them in character.

The unexpected leak caught the attention of Variety, which reached out to David Sandberg, director and star of the original 2015 viral short film. Sandberg confirmed the promo was never intended for public release, explaining that it was created strictly for internal use, likely for investors or production partners. He expressed concern over the leak but didn’t disclose how it happened.

Kung Fury began as a parody of 1980s action films, quickly gaining cult status after its YouTube debut. A feature-length sequel was announced in the same year and completed filming in 2019. However, the project has been mired in legal disputes between producers and investors, preventing its release. Sandberg and the team remain hopeful that audiences will eventually get to see the full film.
