Twitch is getting ready to launch one of its most requested features — live rewind — something fans have long enjoyed on YouTube and KICK. According to reporter Zach Bussey, Twitch is currently testing the feature and may officially announce it at TwitchCon Rotterdam 2025.
Live rewind lets viewers rewind a live stream without leaving the broadcast. This means you can instantly rewatch a moment you missed, or quickly grab a clip without waiting for the VOD to update. Right now, Twitch does allow some form of rewind, but it involves switching to the VOD — which takes time to process and often makes the whole thing frustrating.
As Twitch has faced more competition in recent years, the platform has slowly introduced updates to stay in the game. Some changes have been small, but others, like being more transparent about bans, have made headlines. The addition of live rewind is another major step forward.
This will be especially useful for fans watching esports or major stream moments. Being able to go back just a few seconds could make catching highlights and creating clips way smoother. While it's not available just yet, expect Twitch to roll it out soon and promote it big when they do.
