Nintendo has sent out confirmations to some members of the gaming community that their requests to attend Switch 2 presentations scheduled for April have been approved.
The company will not only show off the device itself and talk about its features, but will also let event attendees try out the new console.
There have been a lot of comments online from satisfied fans and Nintendo fans. However, not everyone was invited. Among those whose registration didn't go through was Geoff Keighley, the organizer and host of The Game Awards. He shared a screenshot of the rejection letter on his X page, expressing outrage, but soon deleted the post.
Nintendo plans to visit various cities in North America, Europe, Australia and Asia over the course of two months. Paris and New York will be the first to host the presentations, with events in those cities scheduled for April 4.
Similar to its predecessor, the Switch 2 is a hybrid console that allows users to play in both portable and large-screen settings. Upgraded hardware improves game performance, and the detachable Joy-Con controllers are a little bigger and now attach with magnets.
Nintendo unveiled a new Mario Kart game in the trailer, which will debut on the Switch 2. There are currently no confirmed exclusive games. Both digital and physical versions of first-generation Switch games will be backward compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2.
