Surprisingly, it comes with Windows 10 preinstalled instead of the expected Proton, though this may change by the console's release.

The revision shown in the review is slightly older than the one Jeff Keighley accidentally revealed in The Final Hours of Half-Life: Alyx back in 2020. Moreover, the device's motherboard schematic dates back to 2022.

All of this suggests that this particular unit is more of an early prototype showcasing the engineers' vision rather than the final version of the upcoming console.
