Sometimes we wonder how developers struggle with fixing bugs in their games, but today we have an example showing that the solution isn't always obvious. For a considerable amount of time, Counter-Strike 2 had a bug that allowed players to climb to heights in ways that weren't intended by the game's mechanics. Valve tried various solutions, but not everything was resolved. Finally, thanks to the community, the cause of this bug was identified.

It turns out that if a player dies while standing on the dead model of another player, the ragdoll collision becomes permanently disabled, which leads to the boost bug. After Poggu_ shared this discovery, along with the necessary comments, the developers quickly implemented a fix.

Last week, the Valve team working on Dota 2 dealt with various bugs related to Hand of Midas. The bugs varied in severity, but many weren't fixed immediately, and there's still no guarantee that new issues won't arise. Sometimes, tracking down the root cause is genuinely challenging.
