Counter-Strike 2 recently set a new concurrent player record, and in-game skins are skyrocketing in value—overall, the game is in great shape. However, the community is eagerly awaiting the next major update, and in classic Valve fashion, the company remains completely silent on any announcements.
This has led some players to test their theories with high-stakes bets. Well-known skin trader xMercy has placed a massive wager, believing that the next big update will drop before the end of March. His stake? A rare and expensive sticker from ESL One Katowice 2014. His anonymous opponent has matched the bet with $8,000 in cryptocurrency.

By “major update,” both parties agree that it must be significant enough to warrant a dedicated news post on the official CS2 website—not just a minor patch in the changelogs. The bet will be settled in two weeks if no update arrives, or as soon as it drops.
Of course, this wager won't affect Valve's decisions, but the next fourteen days are shaping up to be very interesting!
