PGL, the tournament organizer, has announced changes to the prize pool distribution rules for the upcoming PGL Bucharest 2025 Counter-Strike 2 championship. According to the official website, half of the initial $1.25 million prize pool will now be allocated directly to the participating teams.

This decision aligns with updates to the Valve Ranking System (VRS), which considers team-based prize money when calculating ranking points. It is likely that this new model will also apply to future PGL events.

Previously, PGL tournaments did not separate prize money between players and organizations. Teams received their winnings as a lump sum and decided independently how to distribute it. The shift aims to streamline compliance with VRS guidelines while ensuring fairer recognition for club contributions.
The PGL Bucharest 2025 LAN event will take place in Romania from April 6 to 13, featuring 16 top-tier teams competing for the $1.25 million prize pool. Matches will occur in a studio setting at PGL’s venue.

Additionally, closed qualifiers for Europe, North America, and South America have been postponed to later dates, with updated schedules set to be announced on March 4.
