The return of Train to the game has been anticipated not only by data miners but also by casual fans. This classic map was referenced in the original trailers for Counter-Strike 2, and everyone understood that it was a question of when, not if. For a long time, though, there was no concrete information.

The CS2 developers had been dropping hints on their X account, but today, the map officially returns to the game!

Interestingly, the teaser video shows Train in rainy weather, sparking a valid question for players: what will the FPS be on this map, as rain certainly adds to the computer's load?

Another major question is when Train will enter the active competitive map pool rotation — which map Train will replace, and how soon the swap will happen. Valve might use the RMR and Shanghai Major weeks for testing, then add it to the map pool afterward. However, no official details on timing have been released yet.

Alongside Train, an updated Overpass is also returning, along with four new community maps: Basalt, Edin, Palais, and Whistle. Interestingly, Valve removed the first community maps, Thera, Mills, Assembly, and Memento from all game modes.
